Celebrating Lois

Join us in celebrating the life of Lois Beauchamp, a devoted quilter, retired school teacher and lifelong waffle lover (especially ones with peaches and pecans).

A casual reception for friends will be held from 2 - 4 pm on Friday, May 9, at a private residence in San Antonio. All are welcome. Brief remarks will be made around 2:30 pm. (Specific address information will be provided in confirmation email.)

Lois was a treasured wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She died peacefully Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was 93.

Her dry humor and wry smile endeared her to all who met her. From raising eight children to teaching for 25 years in an elementary school classroom, from creating hundreds of colorful, carefully pieced quilts to playing uncountable nights of dominoes with family, her legacy will live on through the scores of students, colleagues and friends she impacted.

Lois Eileen Beauchamp was born May 7, 1931, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Dorothy and Harold Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Larry, and her daughter Lissa.

Lois is survived by her children: Larry Beauchamp Jr. and his wife, Trish; Lynne Luikart and her husband, Robert; Lauri Kerns; Lee Luikart and her husband, Myron; Lanny Beauchamp; Lenore Beauchamp and her partner, Kathy Belisle; and Lane Beauchamp and his husband, Dan Shelley; by 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and by her brother, Don and his wife, Patricia.

She will be interred next to Larry at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
